News: Govt bans toys containing toxic plastic

January 28th, 2010

Extracts from:  http://bit.ly/bgrw9ihttp://bit.ly/czjjn5

The federal government has banned toys and baby products containing a potentially dangerous chemical.

“This is largely a precautionary measure because when it comes to the safety of our children, I will err on the side of caution,” he said in a statement.

Dr Emerson said the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission had recommended that these products be banned because of the risk, albeit remote, of future reproductive problems.

“Research has shown there is a risk factor when products containing this chemical are chewed or sucked for long periods. That’s why I am not taking a risk when it comes to babies and children,” he said.

Rest assured that our giimmo night lights comply with Australian safety standards and more.

giimmo products are free from all phthalate plasticisers and safe for use by children.

Giimmo Magic Light – Product Review on best buys 4 baby

January 25th, 2010

gimmo magic light review

Giimmo Magic Light review on Best Buys 4 Baby:

Excerpts:

“Giimmo Magic Lights are little PVC animal shaped night lights which emit rotating soft kaleidoscope colours. They are powered by an AC charger, once charged they can be moved to any space.”

“The soft colours of the magic lights make a great night-light. They light up a space without being overpowering and are a useful light to breastfeed by.”

“Our little toddler tester showed little interest in his hedgehog night light for a few weeks until he started to wake with night terrors. Only two days after having the Gimmo Magic Light on his bedside table he started to resettle himself in the night without crying. It has been love and a good nights sleep for the whole family ever since”

Conclusion:

8/10

“If you are after a night light for your baby, a Giimmo Magic Light is a practical, fun and will be useful for years. Not to mention very effective in alleviating night time anxiety.”

ABC-Design Zoom Twin Pram on the Australian Baby Blog

November 19th, 2009
ABC Design Zoom

ABC Design Zoom

“Back in September 2009, I was kindly invited to attend The Baby Show to check out the new ABC Design ‘Zoom’ Tandem Pram that Western Bloc were coming out with.”

“I’d been on the lookout for a double pram, and the Zoom caught my eye from looking at the pics and specifications on the net.”

“Checking it out in person at The Baby Show in Sydney, it left a good impression on me!”

“Although I couldn’t test drive it, the Zoom double pram actually looked more compact that I had thought, without being too squishy if you wanted to reverse the seats to face each other or away etc.”

“The sturdy, strong frame was still light – so it’s still perfect for those who worry about trying to fold up and carry a hefty pram to/from the boot of the car.”
